WHAT IS AN E-BOOK?

Well, an e-book is an electronic photocopy of a text recorded onto a CD rom. It can include, of course, all illustrations and photos in their original colours. All the material is exactly reproduced. The document is therefore recorded with its original layout and paging.

If you don't like reading a text from a computer screen, you may do a printout of the text via your printer onto paper. You then, in effect, you have the original book in its unbound form!

One of the many advantages of this form of text is that it is very light in weight and therefore the postage costs are greatly reduced. Also there is the enormous economy in the use of paper!

HOW CAN YOU READ YOUR E-BOOK?

All computers include a programme called "Acrobat Reader". It is via this programme that you are able to open your e-book. "Acrobat Reader" has been updated at least 9 times since it was orginally created, but any one of these versions will serve your purpose of opening your e-book!

HOW CAN YOU OPEN YOUR E-BOOK?

Here are the instructions on how "Acrobat Reader" can help you open your e-book.

1) Insert your CD rom into its computer draw and close.

2) Go to "My Computer" at the top left hand corner of your screen and double click.

3) You will see "drawer E" in the list of selections that comes up, double click on it.

4) This will give you access to your CD rom, which will show you the title of your book double click on this. You will find that this activates "Acrobat Reader" with your e-book already loaded in it.
